For some time past (lie combined local church choirs hate been actively rehearsing Stainer’s sacred meditation, “The Crucifixion,” under the eoiuluctorship of Mr Harold Osborne, and the production will he given in (he Methodist Church op Thursday evening next. The combined choirs will be accompanied by an efficient orchestra. The presentation of this inspiring work is a notable feature of- Passion Week and one that never fails to appeal as a fitting exercise during (lie most solemn period of flic Christian Year. Special attention has been given to the selection of the soloists and judging by the rehearsal.-- a very fine interpretation may he expected. There is every, indication that the seating aeeom'r modal ion of the Church will he taxed lo its ufmosi. Admission will he bv silver coin.
