ALLEGED LOTTERY.
CASE AGAINST DUNEDIN DRAPER. Dunedin, April 4. The charge against Arthur Barnett, draper, for establishing a lottery whereby £IOO was offered lor the correct solution of the letters “M.F.8.,” has been resumed. Mr Solomon, for defendant, drgjy attention to the Wellington decision, when a similar charge was dismissed. Counsel stressed the point that clues were published at intervals so that people could deduct the solutiou. There were 41 successful competitors so that it was inconceivable that the correct solution “Money for buildeitg” s’was 5 ’ was matter of chance. Judgment was reserved.
