Oamaru, Last flight. An interesting case was heard in tlie Magistrate’s Court to-day when Robert Aguew Thompson, practising as V-hcrbaliSt, was charged that Im W. a vL keeping open a-shop .for retailing poison, not being a registered vendor. Evidence was given»«.by several wiinesses thuL they had gone to Thompson's shop for a “pick me up" and had afterwards become seriously ill. Some of them had consulted doctors ami been sent to the hospital. I he medical evidence was to the etfeel ibai tbe men wbo received ihe "pick me up" suffered from atlopbine. It was suspected tJmt a certain mixture contained belladonna. After hearing evidence the Mag-i-t rate adjourned the case for fuarl< on days to enable an analysis to be made of two mixtures named in the evidence.
