S.M. COURT.

The monthly sitting of the S.M. Court was held before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., yeslerday. BY-LAW CASES. W. R. Byne, for illegally tapping the borough water supply, was lined £2 Avith costs 7/-. Phillip Eric Churcher, of Shannon, for negligently riding a motorcycle within the borough at an excessive rate of speed, Avas fined £5 with 7/- costs. The S.M. said the case was a bad one and the defendant needed to be taught a lesson. LICENSING CASE. George Mitchell, for being illegally on the licensed premises of Whyte's hotel on Sunday, 9tii March, was lined £2 with 7/- costs. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered up for plaintiff in the following civil cases: K. McCauley v. James Eutwislie, £t> lU/-, costs £1 10/6; same v. it. Uoodail, £3, costs £1 il/ii. it. X. Speirs (Mr Bergin) v. E. M. (lore (Mr Cooper-), £25 16/5, costs £5 3s; it. Bryant (Mr Bergin) v. E. M. Core (Mr- Cooper), £56 17/2, costs £0 17/-. JUDGMENT SUMMOXSES.

L. Bishop was ordered to pay D. Vv. itobertson £l7 16/2 forthwith, in default 14 days, costs £1 1/-; A. James Mouatt was ordered to pay A. Keith £l6 14/- with costs £1 1/£5 forthwith, balance in instalments of £1 per week. J. McKay was ordered to pay W. Jury £l7 14/6 with costs £1 1/- forthwith, at the rate of 10/- per week.
