Messrs Levin and Co. Ltd, have received the following cable from their London agents, dated the 18th March, 1924: “The auctions opened here today with a large attendance of buyers and keen competition. Compared with the closing rates of the last sales, we yuote:— ‘Greasy Merino, best, no change; do., average, no change; Half bred, 50/50 s Id to per lb dearer } Crossbreds, 48/50’s, Id to lid per lb. dearer; do., 40/48’s, Id to lid per lb. dearer; do., 44/46’s 2id per lb. dearer; do., 40/44’s, 2id per lb. dearer; do., 20/Ill’s 2d per lb dearer; slipe wool, 10 to 15 per cent, dearer.’ ”
