BAND SHOP DAY.

A shop day in aid of the local Citizen's- Band funds will take place on Saturday next in Perreau’s buildings. Yesterday the Band was treated very well at the Oroua Downs sports meeting and efforts on the Band’s behalf realised £B. The Oroua Downs settlers are sending in eggs and poultry for the shop day and have promised further assistance on behalf of the Band’s funds. ,

The Kongo tea people have also promised asisfanee and intend to !,nt on ada nee on the 2fil*h inst. in aid of the funds.

On Saturday evening the Band ".ill play selections in connection with the shop-day effort. Ale D. Purcell has donated a lamb for a weight-guessing competition.
