TRAFFIC TALLIES.
MANAWATU COUNTY. The traffic tallies taken by the Council as requested by the Highways Board in order that it might ■determine through which counties (lie main highway- should run were presented at Tuesday’s meeting of the Manawalu County Council and disclosed the following figures:—
The clerk reported that during the fortnightly period over which the tallies were taken there were no race meetings or shows in the district unduly to augment the totals. KAIRANGA COUNTY TALLIES. Tallies were taken of the traffic on six different roads in the Kniranga County? from Monday, January 28 to Sunday, February 10, inclusive,.for the whole 24 hours each day. The figures for the three roads which the County Council hopes to have declared main highways—Napier road and Foxton and Rangitikei lines—are as follows: —
