Poultry Association delegates met in annual conference to-day and . were welcomed by the Mayor and the Minister of Agriculture. It was stated that legislation was necessary to put the industry on a proper footing. The most important matters to be discussed were cheaper food and freights. At the present time poultryinen were paying twice us much for fowl wheat as they should. This and other handicaps were proving a serious obstacle to success. The Minister and members of Parliament said they were prepared to give the recommendations of the conference favourable consideration.
