THE LATEST MAGAZINES.
We have just received from the publishers (Messrs Gordon and Gotch (Aust.) -Ltd., per Mrs R. Partes, the following latest magazines: Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions March Number.—There is a splendid selection of free -patterns in this issue, including a girl’s top coat and tam-a-shanter, Bto 10 years, school dress and flounced frock, 6to 8 years, and petticoat 2 to 4 years. Special features are knitted three-piece costume for girl, notes on coming fashions by the editress, charming frocks for woollen and silk materials, coats for school and best wear, smart costumes and coat frocks, etc. There are numerous articles and pages of interest for all including “How to make an Amusing film,” and a simple prize competition together with a chart to help you dress correctly, helpful hints, etc. A particularly fine number. The Story Teller Magazine for February (Cassells’) is replete from cover to cover with tales of daring which will grip the reader to the finish. This issue contains Gilbert Frankau’s brilliant series of fantastic adventures of “Randolph Blew,” “Airmen,” and other contributions, all by W. L. George, Harold, Wimbury and other contributors. A host of good yarns make up a first-class magazine. Now on sale, be advised, get a copy early. “Sovereign Magazine, January number, contains another new gripping adventure of “Bulldog Drummond,” entitled “The Third Round,” by “Sapper.” Earl Derr Biggers contributes “Fifty Candles,” Edison Marshall “Crimson Poppies,” while the magazine is just full of other interesting yarns, all fully illustrated which make this a most notable, issue of the “Sovereign Magazine.” London Magazine.—This is an extraordinary number. The stories and articles are of exceptional merit and proclaim the attention of everybody. Mr Charles D. Cochran writes an article entitled “Choosing a Chorus Girl,” which is very interesting. The Ziegfeld Follies Beauty Chorus and Mack Sennett’s Bathing Beauties are all dealt with and some interesting light is thrown on the life led by these girls. Don’t miss getting a copy of this magazine. Violet Magazine. —A special feature of the December number of this magazine is a new story by Effie Scott entitled “The River of Years,” a remarkable story which will bold the readers from ’beginning to end. “Settled,” a story of newly-weds is also very entertaining. But for a good laugh, read “Love and the Dress Suit,” by Helen Clifton. Giber stories in this number display the attractive talent of Lewis Carlton, Leslie Arthur, William E. Groves, Madge Crichton, Phillip Richard-, son, etc.
