PALMERSTON NORTH CARNIVAL.
HARRISON ANNEXES 00 2-3 YARDS HANDICAP
Foxton was again to the fore at the Palmerston North Amateur Swimming Club’s final carnival held in the Munieijial Baths last evening. W. Harrison, of Foxton, succeeded in securing first place in the 00 2-5 yards men’s handicap, doing the distance in 50 4-5 seconds. In the first heat Harrison (ser.) swam the distance in 51 2-3 seconds and Fuller, also of Foxton, in the fourth heat, with 5 seconds, gol placed first. Time 52 seconds. Tn the semi-finals Harrison reduced his time to 51see. securing Ist place and then did the final in 50 4-5 seconds.
The race was well worth seeing and Harrison is shaping well and should be heard more of next season.
