Manawatu Herald TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 1924. MISUNDERSTANDING CLEARED UP.
BY a. perusal of the report of the Horowhenua Power Board meeting elsewhere in this issue, it will he noticed that a misunderstanding- hasbeen cleared up in connection with the payment, for connections. It was generally understood and in fact stated by the canvasser, that connections for domestic and motive, purposes were to he paid for by consumers upon completion. Prospective customers naturally asked how long they would have to wait upon the completion id' tin- connections till the juice was turned on. The answer was indefinite. This naturally prejudiced many against signing up for the reason that they could not afford to allow capital expenditure to remain idle. The position is now made clear that the initial cost other than the deposit, will not be made until the current is ready for transmission. Now that this misunderstanding has been definitely settled, it will not he too late for those who have held off on this account to participate in having their connections made under the group system.
