GENERAL ELECTION.
TWO OPINIONS,
The Oamaru correspondent of the Dunedin Star says that Sir Thomas Mackenzie expects a general election in New Zealand about December, and if lie is hack from England he will probably contest the Waitaki seat against Mr Bitchener, Sir Thomas also states that Sir Joseph Ward is likely to contest a Wellington seat-, probably Wellington North. Auckland, February 25. When questioned about a telegram from Dunedin stating that Sir Thomas Mackenzie expects a. general election next December, Mr Massey said that December was usually the right month but the Parliamentary calendar was fixed for December 1025. Many politician* would he much surprised if it, were changed a year.
