APPRENTICES’ ACT.

Wellington, Last Night.

While speaking ai a luncheon of the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association, the Hon. W. Anderson a-ked for the co-operation of employers with the Government in its endeavour to make Ihe Apprentices’ Act, passed last session, a success. He emphasised the need for systematic training. The Act would come into operation on April 1 next. The measure was flic result of a compromise. The Government and department thought the Act a good one, and it was the desire of the Government that the measure should be given a fair trial. A lad was lo be pitied who had not been trained in some skilled occupation.
