DISUUMSIOX OF PROPOSED CUT.
’i lie ordinary meeting of the- a-! how was held on Saturday, presided over by Air F. S. Easton (chairman). There were also present, Messrs K. Easton, (Jhrystall, W. E. Barber, A. King and the clerk, Mr Alt'. Fraser. ' A letter was received from the Alauawatu Uroua River Board enclosing a plan showing route of the overflow channel as adopted by the Alanawatu-Oroua Board at a meeting held on the 7th inst. The plan was discussed at length, the members were not in favour of the cut from Opui Bend but approved a cut from Dr. Walls’ comer.
The following motion, moved by All-. W. E. Barber, and seconded by Mr Chrystall, was carried: — “That a reply be sent to Mana-watu-Oroua River Board that this Board would like to meet the River Board at the earliest date possible and hear the reasons that decided the adoption of the plan received, as the present route does not appeal to the Board.”
