HOROTONGA MARMALADE.
“If 1 were a younger man and not so infernally lazy, 1 would start a marmalade factory in Rarotonga. There’s a fortune in it,” said Mr Byron Brown to our- representative ul Wellington recently. Mr Brown (whose daughter is now resident on the Island J has visited Rarotonga and was astonished at the enormous quantities of oranges going to waste on the ground. He said these could be utilised for marmalade, which would find a ready market in the United States, where millions of „ people are marmalade eaters. He added that with a capital of £IO,OOO a profitable industry could be established at the Island.
