Work is expected to begin shortly upon a seven-storey building in one of Wellington’s best residential areas, to be fashioned upon the American plan of flats, of which the individual occupiers will be aide (<> secure the perpetual rights. The cost is estimated at about .t'60,000. The building is to be of ferro concrete, sound-proof and designed to resist earthquake shocks. Twentyeight fiats will he provided and oil each of the seven floors will he grillrooms. A roof garden will top off the building.
