SENT TO GAOL
OUTCOME OF A JOKE. Marton, January 18. Strong comment has been aroused by a sentence imposed by Mr Watson, S.M., uu a commercial traveller who picked up a small parcel on a station platform and retained it as a joke Avith his fel-low-travellers. He was sentenced to fourteen days’ hard labour without the option of a line. Representation is being made to the Minister for Justice.
