LYRIC CONCERT COMPANY. TOWN HALL. MONDAY NIGHT. On Monday night Pox ton theatre patrons will he afforded an opportunity of hearing something fresh in the way of entertainment, when the Lyric Concert Company, consisting of first-class artists, will offer a tip-top programme at the Town Hall. The artists contributing include Mr Teeling, a pupil of Mme. Oftley Stayle; Mrs Hosking, a pleasing contralto; Nichol Brothers, string wizards, who do wonders with the.steel guitar and ukelele;Ri kiluina, the wonder violinist, assisted by Miss Natusch, champion pianist: Mdlle. Nemo, accomplished toe-dances: Air Light, the comedian, who will keep everyone in fits of laughter. The popular prices of admission should assure a packed house. WILLIAM FARNUM TO-NIGHT. Many picture goers still recall to mind the great fight provided by William Farnura and Tom Santschi in “The Spoilers.” In “Brass Commandments,” at the Town Hall tonight, the same two actors again dash in an epic struggle, which forms but a minor part of a pielure. notable on account of its romantic cliarm, novelty of theme, and fine settings. The story is from the pen of Charles Alden Seltzer, and the various roles are played by Wanda Hawley. Claire Adams and Joseph Gordon, in addition to '.he two artists mentioned at the opening of this paragraph. "Brass Commandments” may be summed up as equal to William Far mini's best. Also the popular Lee kiddies in a comedy entitled "Wise Birds." and a Travelogue, and Fox News. Prices 9<! and 1/6, children 3d and tin.
On Tuesday next (race night) a Sciznick feature tilm. described as a picture sensation, has been secured entitled "'The Ghost City." It tells a story of thrilling adventure connected with the widespread traffic of illicit, liquor in America, and features Helen Holmes who is renowned for her stunts and thrill moments. A comedy, scenic and magazine complete a line programme. Prices Ikl and 1/ti, children 3d and lid. On Wednesday night a special Cabaret has been arranged. “The Tiger’s Claw,” with Jack Holt, will be screened. A thrilling story of the mystery of the Orient. Also two comedies, ••The Singer Midgets," and "The Kidnappers' Revenge.” KOVAL PICTURES. "A girl never marries tire man she Hu ts with.” So said Oscar Wilde, famed in Ids day for his many clever observations on women. A picture that comes with a warning to the women of modern society is “A Woman of No importance,” to be screened at iho Royal Theatre to-night. The story has been adapied from ibe original stage version with ihe intention that it will carry i lie full sigmlicance of the Wilde play. There is also a Mermaid comedy entitled "Hanger." On Monday night "Gypsy Passion" wilt be screened. This is a roman lie melodrama based upon gypsy life with scenes laid in Prance and carries some tense moments and peturesque characterisations. On Tuesday night the great picture entitled ,‘Bavu,” will bo screened. 11 is an intriguing title and the Universal-Jewel picture of that name is said to be a weird story, a mystery play of the most intense variety with more of the thrill element- than is commonly found in cinema drama. Comedy: "Way Hown North.” On Wednesday night a screen play Idled with dramatic action, thrills and human interest is offered, entitled “McGuire of the Mounted.” it is a story of border life in Northwest Canada, woven around the adventures of Bob McGuire, of the Royal Northwest Mounted police service.
