ALL BLACK’S TOUR
SCHEMES FOR SELECTING TEAM.
Wellington, Last Night
Alternative schemes for the selection of the All Black team to tour England were discussed at a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night. The proposals included the selection of fifteen certainties by a sole selector, then to select a team from the provinces and play it against a country union, tho South Island also to select teams from the major unions in a match north v. south, and from ihese four to make a final selection, of extra men. Another suggestion was a match possibles v. probables, from both islands. All the schemes were criticised and finally referred to a sub-com-mittee to consider and report. Regarding the proposed visit to Sydney of the All Blacks while en route to England, nothing definite was arranged. If the New South Wales itinerary was accepted, it would mean £36 per man extra for fares, and it is suggested New South Wales should pay this.
