FOXTON RACING CLUB
ANXU A L MEETING—TUESDAY. AND WEDNESDAY.
Provided the fates ordain fine weather for the loeal club’s forthcoming- annual meeting, to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday next, the attendance on both days should easily constitute a record. The appointments for patrons at the course are second to none of any country meeting held in the Dominion. Then there is the fine belt of shelter trees for picnic parties and family gatherings. The natural rise beneath the trees gives a splendid outlook and is, in fact, a natural grandstand. The committee have carried out a number of improvements during the year, both to the course and appointments, which should further popularise this annual event. The caretaker is to be congratulated upon the excellent appearance of the track and lawns, which after the recent rains are in applepie order. This year the club has engaged the Foxton band to discourse a programme of music on both days. Hector Gray and other crack jockeys will be seen in the saddle during the meeting.
