NAPIER WOOL SALE
PRICES ADVANCED ON PREVIOUS RATES.
Napier, Last Night
The second Napier wool sale of the season was commenced this evening, when two catalogues comprising practically half the total offerings of 32,610 hales was disposed of. The sale will he concluded to-morrow.
A very large and representative bench of buyers was present. Representatives of the Continent were most prominent and took a big percentage of Ihe offering. Bradford also bought freely. Prices were fully 2LI in advance of last Napier sale, the values realised for medium and coarse crossbred appearing to he equal to commandeer prices hut for fine wools were rather better. Lambs’ wool was keenly competed for, whilst there was also the greatest keenness for fine pieces, prices for which in several instances were in advance of those realised by fleece.
Southdown wool brought up to 26d. strong half-bred up to 24Ad, Romney crossbred 20Ad. Romney lambs.'23 |d, fine pieces 10-fd, bellies 14 LI, erufehings TOJd, locks Sd.
