SWIMMING
At the swimming sports held at Levin baths hist evening, W. Har- ~ rison, of Eoxfcon, proved himself to ho possessed of the gift of speed in the water, and was successful in gaining tirsL honours in the 100 yards handicap. Harrison won Ms first heat off a fisee. handicap and in the final won by about 25 yards from Cockroft, of Palmerston ’N. (ser.). Harrison was also awarded second place in -the 25 yards race, opinion being divided as to whether he actually won the race or not. l-oxton also entered a team in the relay race, but did not secure a place. We are informed it is the inten- i tion of the local club to affiliate with the Manawatu Centre, so as to af- - --j ford Harrison an opportunity of re- »»■ presenting the Club at the championsMp contest at Levin on the 30th inst.
