BOY SCOUT CAMP AT RACECOURSE.
Scouts from various parts of the district went under canvas at the Foxton Racecourse yesterday. The troops left Palmerston North yesterday morning under Scoutmaster the Rev. Dent, and they were farewelled at the railway station by the District Commissioner, Mr R. S. Abraham. The camp is under the command of Deputy-Commissioner J. R. T. Slipper, and a lengthy programme of scoutcvaft, games and sports has been drawn up to cover the ten days training. The district commissioner will visit the camp in the course of a few days, and will inspect the troop and the eamp arrangements. Given line weather, it is hoped that much useful work will he accomplished. A further contingent of scouts arrived at the camp last evening, including a number from Feilding and the camp strength is expected to be at least 130.
