Cambridge, December 24. Several households in his dis- • trict have been disturbed at night, i through a man prowling about looking in the windows, and investigation resulted in Frederick Carl Petersen, of Goodwood, painter, being arrested. The arrest was brought about through an incident on Thursday night last when a young lady resident in the district saw a man enter her room at 11.30 p.m. When she called out the man fled but the young lady had secured a glimpse of his face. The police were notified, and on searching the promises discovered footprints with an unusual make of rubber soles. Measurements taken agreed with the boots of accused. The evidence showed that accused was in the vicinity of the house that night. Petersen was convicted and sentenced to 24 hours’ hard labour.
