Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1923. A MERRY CHRISTMAS.
YOUNG and old, rich and poor anticipate with feelings of joy and gladness, the Christian festival with its family reunions and general rejoicings—and it’s a poor heart that cannot rejoice on such an occasion. The glad message of Peace and Goodwill re-echoes throughout Christendom and evil is banned —for a time at least. We, in this little country, should he the happiest and gladest of all peoples for our environment and natural resources are second to ndne in the whole wide world and prosperity abounds. Let us, therefore, rise above and beyond the petty irritations of our common domesticities and extend the hand of fellowship and a glad hulloa to all. Catch the spirit of the Message, not only for the festive season, but.as a characterbuilder throughout the coming year. The season affords the opportunity to quit selfishness and all uncharitableness. To those upon whom misfortune has come, either in body or estate, now is the time to display the. characteristics of the Perfect Man, whose nativity we celebrate. We take this opportunity of wishing our readers “A Merry' Christmas”— “May good digestion wait on appetite and health on both !”
