LES MURRAY DEFEATS VOLAIRE. Wellington, "Last NigHtBefore one of the biggest crowds ever seen at a fight at Wellington, Les Murray, of Southland (9.10i)j won on a foul from Eugene Volaire, in the twelfth round. Murray was leading on points up to the occun-ence, and was displaying more speed than his opponent He also puzzled the Frenchman by his clever head and foot work. Volaire foxced the pace in the last round and Murray was defending cleverly. The Invercargill man sprang as he shot out a straight left and Volaire retaliated to the body with a right, that was six inches below the -belt Harry Stone challenged the winner.
