WHY NOT?
(To The Editor.) Sir, —About, ten days ago a local hid, who is a. really decent boy, was prosecuted in Palmerston North for taking an overcoat fmm a dance ball, while under I lie influence of liquor. T have been expecting to see oilier charges arise out of this and as there has not been any why not? What, about, his companions who made this boy drunk and who allowed him to come away from the hall with the overcoat well knowing it was not his. Are they not accomplices? This party did not arrive in Palmerston N. until after seven o’clock. Well, what about the hotel keeper who supplied the intoxicating liquor after Fours? Surely it would be an easy matter for the police to sheet the blame borne. —Yours etc. WHY NOT?
