We have just received from the publishers, Messrs Gordon and Goteh (Aust.) Ltd., the following latest magazines:— Weldon’s Ladies’ Journal, December number contains gratis patterns of afternoon dress, evening dress and new short coat. Special features of this number are magnificent supplement of new Paris fashions for autumn and early winter. Opening chapters of a splendid new serial “Tony in Between,” by Winifred Carter. Gratis transfer for fashionable embroidery and beading. Autumn millinery. New tailor-mades, arid coats etc. A page for Overseas readers. How to deal with games. A page for girls and boys with prize competitions, etc. etc. The Detective Magazine of October 26th contains many stories of mystery, romance and realism. “The Voice that Killed” by George Evans is particularly good. There is a modem touch about this story that stamps it with the brand of originality. My Bandit-hunting Experience,” by Captain George Ash, is also very good. An intimate historical survey of the growth of the metropolitan police force system is another interesting article in this number. Many other stories and articles make this a real good number. The Green Magazine. Each number contains a carefully assorted selection of excellent stories, contributed by leading authors. Special features of the current, number include “Stephen Bennison has food for Thought,” a characteristic married life story by A. E. Ashford. “Publicity,” an ingenious tale of crime arid the cinema by Fred M. White. “Cats is Lucky,” a humourous story of ancient Rome, by Coutts Bribane Is also very good. This number contains a number of other excellent,stories. New Magazine, November issue, contains many good stories and articles all fully illustrated. “The Autumn Bride,” by May Edginton, “The First Stone,” by Frank 11. Shaw, “A Wife in Revolt,” by Ruby M. Ayres, “Strange Harbours,” by Claire D. Pollesfen, and “Stop Flirting,” are only a few of the excellent assortment given in this number. This is really an excellent, issue of the “New Magazine.” The Yellow Magazine of current issue is full of adventure, romance, and tales of all descriptions by the most popular authors.' This is really a very fine number and should find a place in every home. Just the book to pass a quiet hour or so with.
