MR. MASSEY IN BELFAST

A WONDERFUL RECEPTION. London, Nov. 29. Mr Massey was enthusiastically welcomed in Belfast to-day. On his arrival, he was driven out to Stormont, where he was the guest of Sir James Craig, the Duke of Abereorn being one of the house party. Mr Massey was entertained at a luncheon by the Chamber of Com meree, the president of which, Sir William Coates, paid a trihiite to him as a great Imperialist, to whose robust and practical energy New Zealand, the Empire and the Allies were permanently indebted. Sir William Coates reviewed Mr Massey’s'life and referred eulogistically to New Zealand’s war services. Mr Alassey was accorded a wonderful ovation, the whole assemblage in the hall rising, waving, cheering and singing “For lie’s a jolly good fellow. The New Zealand Premier reviewed in characteristic manner the position of the Empire to-day, ami claimed New Zealand was the purl of the Empire where maritime instincts were strongest. They gloried in the. fact that they had a sailor King, a sailor Prince and a sailor Governor-General. Mr Massey urged that the measures proposed at the recent conferences for advancing money to the Dominions should be continued and extended, because therein lie felt sure means would he found for rapidly diminishing unemployment.
