BOWLING

To-morrow afternoon will be observed as a gala day on tlie local green, the following clubs having been invited to be represented:— Shannon (2 rinks), Levin (2 rinks), Palmerston, Terrace End, Northern, Takao, Manawatu and Feilding (one rink eneh). Play will commence about 2 p.m. and local bowlers are requested to be on the green promptly. Bowlers and croquet pi ay el's are requested to bring a plate in order to assist with the catering arrangements.

AI a meeting of the Centre Executive held recently it was decided lo arrange the following tour this season: — Wellington, December; Taranaki, January; Hawke’s Bay, February; Wairarapa, March. Clubs throughout the Centre will be invited to participate in these tours. The following are the challenges at present lodged for the Manawatu Centre trophies: Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges. Holders, Kerr’s rink, Masterton: —Woodville, Pahiehm, Terrace End, Shannon, Levin, Eketahuna, Feilding, Palmerston N. and Fox ton. Manson and Barr Cup. Holders, Jones’ rink, Palmerston N.—Paliintua, Shannon, Feilding, Foxton, and Northern. The Auckland Centre Christmas Tournament commences on December 26th. Entries close on December sth. A poster containing the details may lie seen at the. Club’s pavilion.
