MAGISTRATE’S COURT
The monthly sitting of the above was held in the Court- House yesterday before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. BY-LAW CASES. Cyril Withers, Thomas Fuller, and Frank Olliver, charged with riding bicycles within the borough after sunset without- lights were fined 5s with costs 7s each. I Rupert Reav, for riding a motor cycle without lights after sunset was fined £1 with 7/- costs. Albert Ernest Baker, for driving a motor cycle within the borough af a speed contrary to the by-laws, was fined £1 with costs 7/-. H. A. Mason, L. Simmons, and A. Chaff, for driving motor cars at a speed contrary, to the by-laws, within the borough, were fined £1 with 7/- costs each. Arthur Baker, for driving a licensed vehicle, without a driver s license, was fined 5/- with costs . s. William Aldridge (sour.) for allowing three heifers io wandei in the borough was fined £1 with oosts 7/-. Pakaru Kepn, charged with failing to send his child to school (two charges) was fined 2/- with (/- costs on each charge. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered up for plaintiff in the following civil undefended cases: — Commissioner of Taxes v. L: J. Marriott, claim £8 5/-, costs £1 ss; same v. C. H. Marriott, claim £8 ss, costs £1 ss; J. H. Hoffman v. I. Aldridge, claim £2, costs 8/-; O. Jacobsen v. A. G. Tollison, claim £7 15/6, costs £1 10/6; R. N. Speirs v. A. G. Tollison, claim £l3 14-/4, costs £2 14/JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. R. George Caddy was ordered to pay M. E. Perrean £lO 1.5/- forthwith, in default 7 days imprisonment. W. R, Tnknrua was ordered to pay Farmers* Union Trading Co. Ltd. iyn 1-1/2 forthwith, in default 14 flays imprisonment, warrant suspended so long as defendant, pays £1 per month, first payment; 3.6 th December.
