At a meeting of committee hold on Tuesday evening the following handicaps were received from the Club handieapper (Mr Roore), covering those players who have entered for the Wilford Cup and Stevenson Pennants competitions:— Thomson 6, Huntley 3, Healey 6, Simpson 6, Jno. Ross 3, Bair 6, 0. Whibley 6, Ball 3, Winstanley 7, Walton 7, Pearson 6, Walker 6, Adams 6, Christie 3, Smith 3, Roore ser., Heasman G, Hollings G, Downes G, Mat tar 6, Nye scr., Stolir 3. WILFORD CUP. The draw for the first round of the Wilford Cup competition was made on Tuesday evening, and resulted as follows: —

Thomson v. Winstanley, Huntley v. Walton, Healey v. Pearson, Simpson v. Walker, Jno. Ross v. Adams, Bn it v. Christie, Whibley v. Smith, Ball v. Roore, Heasman v. Mattar, Holliugs v. Nye, Downes v. Stolir. PENNANTS MATCHES. Yesterday afternoon ideal conditions prevailed for bowling, and with the exception of one match, the first round of the Pennant games was completed, the result being as follows: — Nye and Healey (G) 31, Christie and Thomson (9) 20. Barf and Heasman (12) 37, A. N. Smith and Winstanley (10) 31. Roore and Whibley (6) 28, Walker and Downes (12) 25.

Huntley and Adams (9) 3G, Ball and Walton (10) 34. Stolir and Simpson (9)j have yet to play and Hollings (12) to complete the round, and Jno. Ross and Mattar have a bye.

The green was in pretty fair condition for play yesterday afternoon, and the contesting of the Pennants matches provided an interesting diversion. If the same promptness is observed in disposing of the next (wo rounds, the competition should be completed near the date set d own —3 oth instant.

During the afternoon those taking part in the Pennants competition were photographed in group by Mr Rillens of Palmerston North.

The gala days arranged annually throughout the centre are now being arranged, and in all probability I't-xt Wednesday a visit will he paid to the local green. *
