THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, da toil the 21st. inst., reads: “Hemp, freight from Manila to Great Britain and Continent reduced by 60s per (on as from 13th October. Freight to United States reduced by 17s per ton ns from Ist December, 1923. Prices declined early this week' at about 40s per ton but eft close market was firm with good demand for ‘.V grade, October-Deeember shipments sold at £3l 15s per ton. No-vember-January shipments sold at £32. New Zealand market without interest, values nominally unchanged.”
