Wo have just received the following' latest magazines from the publishers, Messrs Gordon and Goteh, (Anst.) LtdStories selected to suit all tastes appear in the September number of the Green Magazine. Romance: “Cats’ Kittens,” by Anthony Carlyle: adventure: “Stopping the Bake,” by Albert Dorrington; humour: “Sir Richard Fitzwarren’s Moustache,” by John G. Brandon; mystery: “The Knotted Cord,” by Edmund Snell; serial story: “The Sport of Fate,” by Laurence Clarke. Also many other stories by leading authors appear with this issue of the Green Magazine. Detective Magazine,—“Scientific Criminal Investigation,” by Dr. E. Loeard, Director of the Police Technical Laboratory at Lyons, an absorbing presentation of the whole of modern methods in the investigation of crime, writ ten by. perhaps, the most famous authority in the world, begins in the September number of the Detective Magazine. Xo one interested in the study of'-eri-minal investigation should miss this extraordinary series. “Lawson.” the foulest poisoner,” by R. Storey Deans, author of “Notable Trials.” etc. is highly interesting.-' Also a

contribution from Gwyn Evans entitled “TToni Soit.” Harry Furniss supplies “The Comedy of Crime.” There are also many other interesting articles in this number. Red Magazine.—A vivid instalment of Marten Cumberland and R. V. Shaun’s new serial story: “The Lure of Adventure," in the September number of the Red Magazine, carries the author’s remarkable impressive theme to a point at which the reader must find himself deeply interested in the fortunes of the principal characters, and awaits with eager curiosity their further development in the next issue. Complete stories in lighter vein display the attractive talents of A. E. Ashford. Michael Kent. Edgar Jcpson, Wallace Trwin, Stephen Phillips, Stuart Martin and other clever authors. And John Haslette Valiev writes a most interesting story entitled “Cunning of Nature.”
