HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The secretary of the Horticultural Society wishes to acknowledge a donation'of 5/- from Mr Stan. Austin. Mr -GoWer is again giving £2 2/- for collection of blackbirds’, thrushes’, and sparrows’, eggs; eggs to be paid for at so much per dozen, pro rata, to the extent of the amount donated for the purpose, and to be collected within a radius bf three miles of the Foxton Post Office; all eggs to become the property of the Society. General disappointment has been expressed by the committee that school children’s exhibits, which have in the past been a special feature of the show, are not to be entered this year. /
