FIRE AT CARTERTON.

Carterton. September 24. An outbreak of tire at 1.3 this morning destroyed the Club Hotel, The 21 inmates escaped in their night attire and most of them lost all their effects. The efforts of the brigade were handicapped by a leak in the mains. The building being of wood, the flames rapidly spread, and the whole building was destroyed in an hour and a-balf. Tbe insurances are not available. The building was owned by Mr Dwan.
