41 DOUBLE CHARTS.
“WHOLESALE” BOOKMAKER HEAVILY FINED. Auckland, September 12. At the Police Court, Loftus Richards, aged 54, was fined £2OO on two charges of being in the streets for the purposes of betting. It was stated that after his at - rest'4l double charts and £43 were found in his possession. The Magistrate said lie was satisfied that Richards was there for the purpose of betting. The material found clearly showed that he was a bookmaker. He was quite satisfied that the charge was. proved.
