NEWS AND NOTES.
A youth threw a had orange at the motor ear of Mr George Kirk, of Norwich, as it. was passing through Great Yarmouth. Mr Kirk stopped the ear, caught the offender, and gave him a free ride for miles into the country, enlivened the journey by a lecture on the dangers of throwing things at motor cars and then left a very humbled youth to walk home. A New York pilot, Mr Edward Winters, had piloted the Cunard liner Berengaria safely down the Arbrose Channel at New York, and was ready to leave the ship when a bank of fog drifted up and the pilot ship could not be seen. After a wait of an hour the Berengaria was still unable to get in touch with the pilot ship, so she proceeded on her voyage, and Mr Winters had to make an unexpected trip of (>,OOO miles.
