FOXTON CO -OP. SOCIETY.
The annual general meeting of shareholders of the Foxton Co-op. Cash Trading![Society-was held in the. supper-robin of the Towii Hall on Monday evening, when there was a good attendance. The chair was occupied by the. chairman of committee, Mr S. E. Cowley.
The balance-sheet to date was read and considered, and showed that the Society’s, business was making progress under the present capable management and satisfac- ’ tion was expressed at the manner in which the business was being conducted.
The matter of revising the misgoverning the Society in order to allow of further shares being taken up by existing shareholders was gone into. The Manager (Mr Wiustanley) stressed the importance of such an amendment to the rules, .pointing out the .advantages of increased capital for trading purposes. othef shareholders suppor-' ted these views and it was subsequently resolved that this course be taken, which resolution will come up for confirmation at a general meeting to be called within fourteen days. The election of officers resulted in Mr S. E. Cowley being re-elected chairman, with the following committee :—Messrs Newth, Rand, Francis (re-elected), Chrystall, ‘A. G. Huntley, Fuller, G. King, W. H. Coley. A resolution expressing thanks to the retiring chairman, secretary, committee and the Society’s staff was carried by acclamation.
