TARTING 18 years ago with only Messrs. L. H. Co linson and J. Cunninghame themselves, this Store's staff has grown to 150 while the little old shop is now a three-floor modern dipartu.ent building replete with service-giving appointments and labour-savirr; devices for YOUR benefit, Mr., Mrs. and Miss Customer. Last week we enumerated the Personal Services rendered by this Store —this week we make mention of Merchandise Service and other features. WINDOW DISPLAYS —The character of our windows has won Dominion-wide renown. They are heralds of the new fashions and fabrics and furnishings. Realistic figures in beautiful settings set forth the fashions in pictorial review. Goods are all plainly ticketed and displayed so interestingly that no visit to town is complete without a survey of our 14 wonderful windows. BABYWEAR SECTION.—This section deals with such an important part of the population that we have taken care to make all doorways and aisles amply wide for prams and pushcarts. These may be wheeled right into our Babywear Section where mothers can purchase in peace and privacy. TOYLAND.—On first floor, next to Tea Rooms, Toyland occupies a roomy department. All kinds of fluffy, cuddly toys are here, dolls who long for the arms of little mothers, scooters, tricycles, wooden toys, mechanical toys, games and toy books. Meccano (and all parts) for the education and amusement of your son. Why wait until Christmas to give toys when children’s hearts are hungry for them all the year? ■TORE FOR MEN.—Although this is a department store of 35 different sections, the Men s and Boys* Departments constitute SAFE PLACE TO SHOP.—lnexperienced shoppers, such as children, find this a safe place to shop. We try our best to give inexperienced shoppers our best advice, suggestions and value. And although men sometimes feel “strange” in departments other than those for their own sex, we always make this an easy place to shop for everybody. a separate store where clothing, mercery, juvenile wear and footwear is given abundant room, lighting and service. STAFF TEA ROOM.—For the convenience of our staff of 150 employees, we run a Staff Tea Room on the first floor, where at 10 and 3 o’clock tea and cocoa are served with scone, cake or sandwich. Staff tea tickets are eight for a shilling, this not being run for profit but to give our employees the pleasure and refreshment so popular to-day. HOFFMAN PRESS.—For the convenience of men, we have installed a Hoffman Steam Press in which suits are pressed, sterilised and rejuvenated under a steam surface pressure of one thousand pounds to each garment. If necessary, this work can be done while you wait. Ask about this service in men’s section. DELIVERY SERVlCE.—Deliveries to all parts of the Borough are made twice daily by our own motor van, also to railway station for any train. We pack and consign furniture and furnishings free and also pay postage on all cash mail order purchases to any address. Coliinson & Cunninghame LV?
