INDECENT ASSAULT CHARGE.
SEQUEL TO AUCKLAND SENSATION. Auckland, Last Night. At. the Police Court to-day, Victor Henry Simmonds, aged 38 years, pleaded not guilty to two charges of having indecently assaulted two schoolboys-, aged ten, at Mount Albert, on August 15th. Accused was committed for trial. Ho was also charged with having ii-.-aullcd two young men with intent ti) do grievious bodily ham. The evidence showed that-when accused was arrested on the previous charges, lie broke away from the constable, and was pursued by the constable and three men. On bring surrounded, lie jabbed one man, George Alfred Davoren, with a knife, inflicting a wound above the right knee. The other man, Leslie Edward Howarth, received a cut on the hand during the struggle. Accused pleaded not guilty again, and was committed for trial, in custody.
