POINT TO POINT STEEPLECHASE.

The point to point steeplechase to be held on Messrs Robinson Bros.’ property, Lady’s Mile, to-morrow afternoon, promises to attract a large gathering of spectators, who v.-ill be able to witness the events from the road. The ground is familiar to most huntsmen, as it is used for the periodical “meets.” The local Racing Club is endeavouring to obtain a permit for an annual steeplechase meeting. The Pox ton race course is considered by sportsmen and trainers as one of the best winter courses in the Dominion, owing to the sandy nature of the soil.
