MANAWATU 25 V. HOROWHENUA 16. The return match between Horowlienua and Manawatn took place at Palmerston North last Saturday when Manawatn completely turned the tables on their opponents and defeated them by 25 points to 16. The game was clean and played in a most friendly spirit, the only casualty being Cockcroft, who had the misfortune to fracture his left collarbone.

Palmerston High School defeated Wanganui Technical School at Palmerston North on Saturday by 32 points to 9. Hawke’s Bay defeated Poverty Bay in the Ranfurly Shield match at Hastings on Saturday by 12 to nil, thus retaining the shield. In the Afonscar Cup match, New Plymouth High School defeated Auckland Grammar, at Auckland by six points to nil. Auckland defeated Taranaki at Auckland on Saturday by 30 points to 9. At Rotorua, Wanganui defeated Bay of Plenty by 13 points to 8. At. Wellington Canterbury defeated Wellington by 8 points to 6. Galpin, Bropby, Carroll (ATanawatu and Jacob (Horowheima) have been selected in Ihe combined Wellington- Manaavatu - TTorowhenun team to play New South Wales.
