ROYAL PICTURES. When a girl says she can’t stand the sight of a, man —and a man says she isn’t worth a thought.—Beware. Cupid is there. “Conquering 'flic Women,” to be screened at the Royal Theatre to-night, is taken from the popular story, “Kidnapping Coline,” by Henry C. Rowland, a famous author. Cast includes David Bentley, Peter Burke, Harry Todd and other well-known stars. Prices are (id and 1/1, children half price. The manager of the above Ihcntre announces another of the popular series of “The Leather Pushers” for 10-morrow night, entitled “When Cano met Abel,” and shows Kid Roberts winning new fistic laurels in his battle for fame, wealth and the one girl. Also Frank Mayo in “The First Degree,” in which there is a thrilling fight. A rattling good programme. “BACK HOME AND BROKE.” There’s many a man longing to return to his old home town who does not because he wouldn’t want to come “Back Home and Broke” as expressed in the title of Thomas Meigan’s new Paramount picture coining to the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow night. “Tom” returns to the old town, and he goes through all the embarrasment and humiliation of a mau coming back a failure. The strange part of it, is that he isn’t a failure. You doubtless wonder why, instead of going back with a big splash, he allows the homefolk to believe he has been unsuccessful. The reason is too good to spoil by telling. Lila Lee is included in the cast and there is a “Torehy” comedy and Gazette as support. Watch out for Saturday’s programme, it’s good.
