TOM MIX AND HIS FAMOUS HORSE.
During the present week Tom Mix and his horse Tony, who is almost human, are delighting large audiences at the Paramount Theatre, in Wellington, and the Town Hall management have arranged to screen the picture “For Big Stakes,” in which they are appearing on Saturday night. Patrons need no reminding that the name Tom Mix is a guarantee of speed and thrills. Perhaps the biggest thrill in “For Big Stakes,” is Mix’s ride on his horse, carrying his sweetheart to safety while a. praire fire roars two leaps < behind. Chief support to the big picture will be lent by an Al. St. Johp comedy entitled “The Village Sheik.” Prices 9d and 1/C, children 3d and 6d. .1 >C A 7 -*’ ROYAL PICTURES. “Roads of Destiny” is a title which explains itself and the screening takes place at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. The picture is really a tremendously graphic an'd dramatic presentation of three •complete stories, each subtly interwoven. In the leading role is Pauline -Frederick, s This picture is truly typical of <O. Henry in its electrical consequences. The story is surcharged with -emotion. Those who remember “My Boy” and ‘‘Peck’s Bad Boy” will be de--1 igh^BUJgb.. learn that Jackie Cobgan has stiff another offering entitled “Trouble,” which is to be screened on Saturday night. Extra “Perils of the Yukon.” A rattling good programme. •
