To bo living in a tent in the middle of winter is the lot of a family disclosed by a debtor who appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland. The man said lie could not live in a street, neither did he pay rent. He explained that he had seven children, had not been able to work for thirteen months, and could not rent a house as people would not have tenants with children. Consequently he was living until all his family in a tent on a section in the suburbs, rent free.
