Christchurch, duly 20,

The Hospital Board congratulated the Government on its action in setting up a committee on venerea! disease.

Dr. Fenwick said that the board bad taken action nine years ago against the disease and had treat1, 600 persons. He wanted to see conditional notilieation introduced.

Other speakers said that the disease was making terrible ravages and between 500 and 600 cases were treated at Christchurch monthly with a monthly average of 25 new patients.
