“THE CRUSADER.”

In “The Crusader,” a William Fox photoplay which is the leading picture at the Town Hall to-night, William Russell is starred in the role of a young prospector. He no sooner arrives on the mining fields than he becomes mixed up in trouble with claim jumpers and financial wolves. He battles with wits and fists against outlawed miners, whirling rapids, and a sensational mine explosion and whilst winning out, finds time enough to become the leading pawn in a game of romance. “The Crusader” truly adds to the already fine reputation the Fox firm have of turning out features with an appeal to every taste and all who witness this film can be sure of a full measure of entertainment. “Dandy Dan” is the Sunshine comedy to-night when usual prices, fid and 1/1, children 3d and 6d, will be charged.

ROYAL PICTURES. Admirers of the delectable Anita Stewart are promised a treat in “Rose of the Sea,” at the Royal theatre to-night. This is a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Countess Barcynska. Rudolph Cameron, Miss Stewart’s husband in real life, is cast in tlie leading male role. Also a great Larry Semon comedy entitled “The Bell Hop,” and as an extra “The Perils of the Yukon.” Prices as usual. On Monday night H. G. Wells’ novel will be- seen adapted to the screen under the name of “The Passionate Friends.” A vivid, vibrant, epochmaking masterpiece creation. A sex play that is unsullied. A Stoll production. On Tuesday next “My Lady of the Cave,” the first and only filmdrama of New Zealand life, will be screened.
