HOSPITAL BOARDS REFUSE RESPONSIBILITY.

A conference of delegates of Hos-pital-Boards of the North Island was held at Wellington on Tuesday to consider the suggestion of the Health Department that the maintenance of the Otaki and Pukeora Consumptive Sanatoria should be taken over from the Health Department by the North Island Hospital Boards jointly, a.nd that the boards should control the institutions named, About twenty-one hospital ( boards were represented at thei conference.

A resoluton moved by the Palmerston North Hospital delegates opposing the proposal was discussed at great length and after several amendments had been moved the resolution was carried by 18 votes to 5.
