A lire was discovered on tlie premises of Mr C. Hardie, tailor, of Shannon, at 6.30 on Thursday and the flames quickly spread to the house adjoining, occupied by Mrs Cooksley. The blaze was eonflned to these premises and all of Mrs Cooksley’s furniture was saved. Mr ; Hardie lost all his stock. The premises were owned by Mrs Shepherd, of Wellington, and were insured. Mr Bardie’s stock was covered by insurance and there was also a small policy on Mrs Cooksley’s chattels. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery.
